Tybee Island- Lloyd "Jiggs" Watson, 72, died Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Candler Hospital.
He was born in Swainsboro, Georgia on July 10, 1939, one of six children to Hilton Lloyd Watson and Nora Alice Watson. At the age of six, he moved to Savannah where he attended Chatham County schools and Armstrong College. Jiggs worked for Allen Barry's and J.C. Lewis before forming his own business, Tybee Insurance Agency. He once owned Port-A-Call which is now Kevin Barry's. Jiggs was well known on Tybee Island and rarely crossed the bridge to the main land. He served on the Planning Commission, was one of the original Tybee Island Beach Bums and co-founder of the ever popular Tybee Island Beach Bum Parade. He was an avid animal rights advocate and dearly loved his dog Molly. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sheila Watson Scott.
Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of twenty five years, Carrie Traeger; son, Brian "Paco" Watson; siblings, Lois Conner Rev. Joe Conner, Brenda Boulware, Linda Smith Eddie, William "Billy" Watson Debi; in-laws, Ray and Della Traeger; brother-in-law, Jeff Traeger Trish; sister-in-law, Julie Drucker Kile, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 28, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.
The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Trinity Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Conner officiating.
Burial will be private.

Chris, Pasco and I have very fond memories of Jiggs with the gang on Tybee and on Friday nights at Spanky's. We were very sad to hear of his sudden passing and will always remember him for his wit and amazing character. Our condolences go out to Carrie and the entire family. Rest in Peace, Jiggs.
